Pastor of God Healing Temple
President, Enterprise Security Consulting & Training Inc. | Director of Safety and Security | U.S. Army Veteran | Pastor of God Healing Temple | Jurisdictional Bishop | Community Advocate
Bishop Owens F. Shepard Sr. is a multifaceted individual with a rich background in both the security industry and the ministry. Born to the late Mother Armett Shepard and the late Deacon Owens C. Shepard, he was raised in a Christian family where the Word of God was instilled in him from an early age. Although it had been prophesied that he would preach, Bishop Shepard initially strayed from his calling.
In 1986, he joined the U.S. Army, serving on active duty and temporarily moving away from Rochester. Upon returning, he ventured into various jobs and eventually founded a successful business, the Enterprise School of Security Guard Training, providing comprehensive training to security guards from across the county.
Bishop Shepard’s spiritual journey took a transformative turn in 1996 when he accepted the salvation of Jesus during his mother’s illness. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his increased involvement in the church. In April 2000, he answered the call to ministry, subsequently being ordained as a Church Elder and installed as the Pastor of God Healing Temple on August 12, 2001.
In June 2018, Bishop Shepard was consecrated to the episcopacy within the Kingdom Dominion Covenant Ministries Fellowship. He currently serves as the Jurisdictional Bishop for the 1st Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction covering Rochester, New York.
A dynamic preacher, Bishop Shepard initiated the God Healing Temple Radio Revival, a show where he and his mother preached the gospel and prayed for callers. Following its 3 1/2-year run, he launched The God Healing Temple Global Media Network in July 2007. This network serves as the production arm for the God Healing Temple Television Revival, broadcast on RCTV Channel 15 and internet radio stations, reaching a global audience.
Beyond his ministry, Bishop Shepard is an active member and Recording Secretary of the Baptist Minister’s Alliance of Greater Rochester. He also engages in various committees and boards addressing social justice and other issues.
A true servant-leader, Bishop Shepard is known for preaching the unadulterated gospel. He is married to Elect Lady Lakisha Shepard (Walker), and together they are the proud parents of eleven children.
